Default layout for products

Currently, it is only possible to define default layouts for categories. As it is possible to create custom product layouts, it would also be beneficial if one could assign that layout to all existing and newly created products.

This would make it much easier to assign a new layout with several thousand products.

    Push. It's really inconvenient that the Default layout can't be modified and can't be changed. The content managers don't always assign a layout, so I have to go in every other month: export all products - see which have no layout assigned - assign them MY DEFAULT layout - and finally reimport all products...
    this is really unnecessary.

    Same here.. please bring Default layout's for product.
    Ideally in conjunction with the Flowbuilder for more
    flexibility

    its unblievable, that this important site cannot be the main site for all products. we need this very now.

    I was stunned when I found out that after creating the product page we wanted, I'm unable to make this the default product page for all our products.

    Now, I have to assign this page manually to all existing products, more than 3,000 currently, and every time our content team adds new products, they must remember to manually assign the correct CMS page to each future product.

    I don't understand why this feature doesn't exist at the moment.

    How are we supposed to migrate thousands of items and we cant even change the default detail page as a batch?

    It is completely incomprehensible why this setting does not exist.
    The only way to assign a layout to a product is via the setting on the respective product.
    And also very error-prone, as it has to be assigned for every new product.

    Völlig unverständlich, warum es diese Einstellung nicht gibt.
    Der einzige Weg ein Layout einem Produkt zuzuweisen, ist über die Einstellung am jeweiligen Produkt.
    Das ist eine Zumutung! Und außerdem sehr Fehleranfällig, da es bei jedem neuen Produkt zugewiesen werden muss.

    Please add option to bulk edit product layout and assign default product layout.

    This is a must have feature. We are importing tons of new products in a nightly cron job and we currently have to manually assign all new products to our custom product template every morning. I don't understand how such a crucial feature is not implemented or being worked on, while the default category template is assignable.

    Be able to set a default product template per channel. Now only possible per item.
