  2. When creating a new order (Orders > Create order), the first step is for colleagues to search for a customer, usually using the e-mail address.

The customer they are looking for often only appears on page 4-5 of the search results - if they are found at all.

If no matching customer is found, colleagues use the “Create customer” button and enter the relevant customer data.

However, when saving, it is often found that the email address entered already exists, which leads to an abort.

    Suggestions for improvement:

  3. If Shopware uses the hamburger menu (i.e. on small screens and windows), the navigation menu is confusing.

It works on the homepage, because you can see the different categories.

If you are on a product page, you see “Back” and “Show [category name]” in the menu.

This is very confusing because you are used to the navigation menu being the same on all pages. In addition, you can't immediately see which categories the online store has.

If you have a "About us" and a "Contact" page in the menu, visitors do not see it, which costs…

  4. In the "Files" section (for digital products) we should implement a functionality to download files, that have been assigned through the product detail page. Currently it's just possible to "remove" files here.

    1. I added a product slider via Content > Experience Worlds (???) > Landing Pages.
    2. I added products to the slider.
    3. I cannot change the order of the products in the slider but need to delete all products and start over again.

Solution: It should be easily possible to change the sort order of products listed in the product slider without starting over again.

  6. If the values for columns cms_page_id and cmsPage within table product will be set to "NULL", the "original" default layout for product pages will be used, although I've managed to set up a new product-page layout and marked it as "default" beforehand.

Since a different layout was defined as default layout, this particular one should also be used as fallback whenever no layout is assigned.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create custom product layout
    2. Mark it as new default layout for product pages
    3. For already existing entries --> set values for mentioned columns to "NULL" or…

  8. It would be nice to have the possibility to use SQL commands for filling fields in a store page. It would be helpful, for example, to automatically display an overview of the store's shipping costs or to automatically implement values from the database that are relevant for customers in a store page without having to adapt all store pages with these values when changes are made.

  9. It would be useful if the shop owner could decide/set whether the link to the manufacturer's website (click on the logo/manufacturer on the product detail page) is opened externally in the new tag or in the same tab.

If a store page for the manufacturer is to be displayed instead of the manufacturer's website, this is less useful in a new tab.

Here it would be better if the owner had the option of opening the page in a new tab or in the same one

  10. We want to use the media library to provide PDF files for download on CMS pages. While there are special plugins for this, sometimes a simple link would do.

    Current process:

    1. go to media library
    2. finde the PDF
    3. use copy link
    4. go to CMS page
    5. click the "link" button
    6. choose URL option
    7. paste the link, remove the base URL (for better portability between development and production instances)

A better approach would be to be able to directly link to media files in place.

    See the attached screenshot:

    1) I click the link button
    2) I choose "media file in…

We removed the deletion of existing documents in orders sometime in late 2021 or early 2022. There are always users who want such a function. See tickets https://issues.shopware.com/issues/NEXT-19550 and https://issues.shopware.com/issues/NEXT-24888.

In principle, I do not see it as necessary to delete the document, but there should be a way to invalidate documents and make corrections. Possibly similar to accounting, where an incorrect entry is offset with a cancellation entry.

  12. Insert dynamic URLs. This is standard in a CMS. Dynamic URLs have the advantage that the links on a website are automatically adjusted with every update and do not have to be changed manually. Thus, the links should automatically adapt as soon as, for example, a landing page is moved or renamed.

  13. The product variant management page in Shopware 6 wastes significant screen space on larger monitors, forcing unnecessary horizontal and vertical scrolling. The table is too narrow and doesn’t adapt to the available screen size, making key information harder to access.

    Proposed Solution:

    • Dynamically resize the table to fill the available screen space.
    • Add options for compact view and column customization.
    • Enable full-screen mode for data-intensive pages. These changes will enhance usability, save time, and improve the user experience.

    Problem Description:

The current user interface of the Shopware 6 product variant management page does not efficiently utilize the available screen…

  15. When browsing in shops with a very similar assortment, it is often hard to see what is already in the basket, and the customer ends often up on a product that is already in the cart. It would be great to have a system config for that to enable or disable a badge function on the listing and product detail page.

I had this experience recently when buying a pair of jeans pants, which at first glance looked all the same in the listing. It should be performant if just the UUIDs are compared/matched (like Rules).

  16. Within the cross-selling configuration or the ‘Shopping Experiences’, it should be possible to select different positions for the different cross-sellings.

This would allow the product detail page to be quickly customised even without individual programming.

  17. If a guest visitor is in a guest session and goes through the checkout process up to the order confirmation page (/checkout/confirm), but then decides to create an account, they currently have to return to the shop (i.e., leave the checkout). However, there is no direct option to register there, as the guest session is still active and would need to be ended first.

An inexperienced user might not immediately realize this and, in the worst case, abandon the purchase.

Additionally, if a visitor in a guest session manually accesses the login page (/account/login), the registration form is displayed and…

  19. When creating a custom module via the manifest.xml, the iframe is always full-sized, nicely filling in all usable space in the Administration.
When creating a custom module using the Admin Extension SDK, the iframe has a dynamic height and is not full sized. This is understandable when using the iframe in a 'card' component, but for a custom module, it should be an option to automatically size the iframe to fill the admin page.
